Session of the Month - July 2023

July’s session of the month was one that brought a LOT of laughs. Cailyn is a class of 2024 senior from Marshfield. She loves interior design and architecture, which prompted her to reach out to me for her photos… she knew she wanted them in downtown Stevens Point.

Cailyn was lucky enough to be accompanied by her younger sister and her mom. The vibe in this session was immediately goofy and fun. We spent the entire session bouncing quips and jokes off one another.

So Cailyn’s mom is an OBGYN. When I was snapping some photos on one of the sidewalks, I started to slowly walk backward toward the road. Her mom warned me to watch my step and I responded that I’d be fine since she’s a doctor and could help save my life if I fell into traffic. Without missing a beat, her mom responds, “honey, unless you have chlamydia or herpes, there’s not much I can do for you.”

Oh. My. Gosh. I literally lost it, I was laughing SO HARD. Needless to say, I very much enjoyed the lightheartedness of this session!

The “pièce de résistance” of this session was that Cailyn wanted to recreate the senior photos of the leading ladies in her life: her two grandmothers and her mom. This was right down to the outfits and awkward poses. I even snapped quick photos of the originals so you can see a side-by-side here.
