Session of the Month - March 2024

April 2, 2024

Wowza, I am ahead of the game for this month’s post! (*pats self on back*) Granted that’s easy to do with a snowstorm raging outside, locking you in the house.

My session of the month for March is a special one. For this session, I got to have the adorable Dominic in studio celebrating his first birthday. Can we all agree that all toddler boys need to own suspenders and a bowtie? Because I officially can’t handle the cute. He also was wearing a button down sweater as a coat when he arrived so he basically looked like a cute little grandpa.

Dominic had zero interest in not being attached to mama in some way during the session, so we had to improvise to get some good shots. Thankfully he is quite the adorable little guy so getting good photos was basically a given, even when he was not thrilled with my presence.

I’ve known Dominic’s family for awhile now. We used to attend the same church and his big sister was a student of mine a few years back. His big brother, Joey, still goes to one of the schools I teach at. If you had to pick the sweetest guy out of our school, it’d be Joey. Even though he is nonverbal, he always has a smile on his face and brings sunshine to everyone around him.

Joey, Dominic, and their brother Oliver all have a rare condition called GM1 which is a degenerative neurological disorder. With GM1, children often start off hitting developmental milestones but then start to regress as symptoms increase. Unfortunately there is no treatment or cure for GM1.
