Session of the Month - September

October 5, 2023

Holy moly I’m ahead of (usual) schedule this month! Granted, I did make a point to get this done before the weekend because my baby bro is getting MARRIED on Saturday!!!

September’s session of the month is a session type that I do not get to do as often as I’d like: commercial branding!

When Norah reached out to me about doing a styled shoot, answering with an enthusiastic “HECK YES!” was a no-brainer.

Norah’s business, Caroline’s Bridal Boutique, is a fellow Downtown Stevens Point business. The boutique is named after her daughter, Caroline. Before meeting her, I always thought SHE was Caroline, but that’s not the case!

Prior to booking the session, I went down to her shop and sat chatting with her on her giant pink couch. During our chat, I learned more about her business and came to found out how fantastic her business model is.

When a bride books an appointment at Caroline’s, that appointment is ALL about her. Unlike other high-volume stores, Norah really focuses on the whole experience and not just the dress. No other brides are there at the same time, which allows her to give them one-on-one attention. The loved ones who are lucky enough to tag along with the bride get to hang out on the awesome couch, have snacks and champagne, and feel like VIPs themselves.

One thing I absolutely love (as a plus-sized woman myself) is how all shapes, sizes, and colors are not only represented, but celebrated in this shop. Norah made it very clear to me that she wanted this session to include women across the entire spectrum of physical attributes, and I enthusiastically agreed.

What’s even cooler, Caroline’s isn’t just about wedding dresses. They have ADORABLE accessories and even rent out tuxedos. Every year they also do a prom dress sale, too!

The icing on the already amazing cake? A portion of their annual profits also goes to organizations that empower women dealing with sexual assault and fight to end child marriage.

Our session was an absolute blast. One of the groom models even happened to be someone I knew… he was good friends with my brothers when they were younger! We were able to run around downtown by the river between spurts of rain to get these amazing shots.
