Session of the Month - February 2024

March 5, 2024

Friendship is such a crazy thing. True friendship stands the tests of time, distance, life, and even a pandemic.

I will never forget the day I met this beautiful mama. It was 15 years ago… we were both still in college and I had just started dating a friend of hers. She was sitting in a nightgown on the radiator at the end of her dorm hallway. I immediately liked her. Her beautiful smile, her amazing singing voice, the way she lit up any room she was in… how could you not like her?!

Our friendship blossomed over the years… boyfriends came and went (for both of us), classes, weekend study sessions… you name it. We looked so much alike that many thought we were sisters. She was there when I first started dating my husband. She was there the evening he proposed to me. She even stood up next to me, as my maid of honor, as I married him.

Then life happened. We kept somewhat in touch as life went on. I moved to Stevens Point, started teaching, had babies… she continued her education eventually getting her Doctorate and becoming a college professor. She met and married the love of her life (Dan… we like him… he’s pretty okay).

She’s not one to post much on social media (like seriously… maybe a post every 6 months) so I somehow missed her pregnancy announcement last fall. Imagine my surprise when I was perusing Instagram stories a little over a month ago (something I almost NEVER do) and saw her lovely pregnant belly in a random post! After a little more digging I realized there were TWO BABIES IN THERE.

I was SHOOK. So freaking excited. I immediately texted her and we both agreed we were FAR overdue for catching up. We ended up Facetiming that very night for over an hour. It was like we hadn’t just gone almost a year without having the chance to chat. As fate would have it, she was actually being induced two days later.

In true Chelsea fashion, I literally invited myself down to their place (only about an hour away) to do newborn photos that following weekend. We had a LOVELY afternoon of photos, baby snuggling, more catching up, and even more baby snuggling.

I am so, so, SO unbelievably thrilled for this new family of FOUR. Erin and Dan have hopped into parenthood like old pros. I’m sure you will all agree, these two made some very cute babies.
